Gutter Cleaning and Repairs in Fife
The Industrial Roofing Scotland team recently completed a gutter clean and small repair project for a client in Dalgety Bay. The client was suffering from several water ingress related issues which have now been resolved in the short-to-medium term with further discussions ongoing as to how to improve the overall condition of the roof.
Six gutters in total were cleaned, spanning three on-site buildings, with the team removing heavy residue and vegetation which had built up in the gutter preventing the valleys from removing any rainwater through the outlets and away from the building. A number of additional repairs where made, including making-good several areas of the roof that were causing water to penetrate the building – we resolved these areas of concern by utilising our waterproof coatings and sealing several smaller repairs with overclad sheets.
A full risk assessment and method statement was provided to the client prior to the commencement of any works. The asbestos style roof added additional complications to the methods and procedures used on the project including roof access, safe movement on the roof by installing safety lines and walking grids given the fragility of these types of asbestos based roofs.
The clients gutters were issued with a clean bill of health, accompanied by a recommendation report provided as part of the service from the IRS team.
